**Note**
There are two different transmission skids – one for use with the OEM diagonal frame supports and one for use without. 2.3 Liter DOES NOT have these crossmembers, while the 2.7 Liter DOES have them. We recommend checking under your Bronco to confirm the cross-members are there or not.
The skid for use without those supports is a much higher-clearance version of the skid. If you have those diagonal supports you have two options if you want to run the high-clearance version of the skid: source a transmission crossmember without those supports from either the (Ford Dealer or 2nd Hand), or cut those supports off your OEM crossmember. The rigidity added to the chassis from our skid plates is substantial and more than compensates for the loss of those supports.
